Where does the enemy dwell

The enemy dwells in the realm of God and His angels. We call this realm the Spiritual Realm. Can this realm interact with ours? Yes, it most certainly can. We cannot generally see this realm but there are many places in the Bible where it is obvious to individuals. Jacob on his way to Haran saw a ladder that reached to heaven with angels ascending and descending, and the LORD stood above it (Genesis 28:12). Just before Stephen was martyred, he saw “the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God” (Acts 7:56). This realm is not one place. It is not an alternate reality. It is another realm or dimension that is hidden from our eyes, but all around us. It is in our universe, just in a way that we cannot sense it unless God opens our eyes (2 Kings 6:16-17). Angels (and therefore the enemy as well) can move into our realm and seem like human men (Genesis 6:1-4, 18:1-2).

Lucifer, the leader of the enemy was the annointed cherub. In the past he walked among the stones of fire on the mountain of God. He corrupted himself because of his beauty (pride). When he wanted to be like the Most High and raise his throne up above the stars (angels) of heaven he was destroyed from the midst of the fiery stones on the mountain of God (Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:13-17). The leader of the fallen angels still has access to heaven and still lives in the spiritual realm. In Revelation 12:7-9 he and his angels are cast permanently out of heaven and to the earth. This does not mean that he will be in the physical realm that we can see and sense, they will still be in the spiritual realm. They can see us and interfere in our realm, but we cannot see, interfere with, or measure them in theirs.
